Often many transactions will need to follow a similar review path. Proof provides an easy way to start a routing using the approval chain of a previous routing - we call this “cloning” a routing and provides a living form of templates for your department.

Cloning will duplicate the title, individuals with their actions, and routing type in your new routing. It will not copy the attachments.

In order to clone an existing routing here are the steps to take:

  1. find the routing you want to duplicate and open it
  2. Click CLONE on the top right corner (above participants). This will launch a new routing window which has the same information (title, participants and routing type) already entered for you.
  3. Make the necessary changes you need to meet the needs of your new routing; this could include adding or removing individuals, changing the title or due date. Once it is ready, click save to create the new routing!

Note that administrators can set up templates based on routing types to facilitate onboarding of new staff. Cloning is favoured by power users as it can be done for any existing routing, and doesn’t require configuring something fixed for the entire department.
