Every routing in Proof acts like a cover sheet for a folder of documents - documents that are visible only to the participants of a routing, but also editable by everyone on it.
Each routing in Proof is backed by a folder in sharepoint. As participants are added or removed from the routing, users have administrator status added or removed, or as delegations are created, the Proof applications keeps the permissions of that SharePoint folder up to date so that all the routing’s participants (and only those participants) can access those files.
The GIF below shows the full lifecycle of attachments.

Create an attachment by dragging a file from directly into the routing

Though attachment can be created by clicking the “Click or drag to upload attachment” button which will open your operating system’s file explorer dialog

The main way to interact with an attachment is to open it on sharepoint. This allows the attachment to be viewed and editted with out going far from Proof

Sometimes if the changes you wish to make to a document are so significant you want to replace it whole sale. You can do this with the “Upload a new version” option

Of course you can also rename an attachment to clarify it’s purpose. This is the action of “Edit name”

And of course if an attachment needs to be removed, there is the option to delete it from the routing.
If you deleted a routing by mistake, it can be recovered from the recycle bin on sharepoint - reach out to your Proof administrators.
